Christmas is a glitzy time of year-from sparkles in your clothing to sparkles in your cosmetics and face cream-you can see the beaming faces of ladies all across the country!! This past Christmas I was very lucky to receive my own dose of glitz when Russel surprised me with a ring…no not THAT kind of ring, but one equally as important and meaningful. The story on how I actually got this is a funny one but I would much rather like to say that I said No to the Wii and ended up with this ring:
See why I was more excited about it? A big cushion cut ring with my gemstone (Amethyst) on it and surrounding diamonds on 14 K white gold…can you believe that when I was younger I never wanted a single ring with that color in it-I hated that color and always preferred anything blue instead.
Well ironically enough today, a few weeks after Christmas holidays I opened up my door to find a little green box outside on an old box. When I saw that jewelry store name on it, I knew Santa decided to make a stop twice!! I opened the box to find this:
A better look at it up close although the lighting isn’t really that good for both pictures-it is a large size blue topaz gemstone with surrounding smaller topaz and green peridot…and it is…REAL-I mean, 14 K white gold! Quite a difference for me since I am queen of fake fashion jewelry but on real silver thankyouverymuch.
I am quite excited about my new presents-of course I would have been happy with a pencil and a card outside my door but Russel, as always, pulled a fast one on me (and that is NOT what you are thinking!) from the first time he gave me my original promise ring and said, “Frisk me” while I dug in all of his pockets to find it…to the amethyst and diamond ring that he had put in a big box and stuffed with paper trying to allude me in to thinking it was something else…and finally…to driving down to my house and leaving this fabulous necklace outside my door in hopes that I would spot it…and driving BACK home before I could notice.
So what do you think….is he a keeper? (haha)
The necklace gemstone is kinda like my version of the Liz Taylor necklace that she got from Richard Burton…except I call this…The Russ.
Thank you baby-it was unexpected, a big surprise and definitely more exotic than anything I have owned fake or real before!!
