Spooktacular Costumes!

Last night, Saturday October 28th, Russel and I went out to watch a fun show downtown. It was called the Spooktacular Halloween concert which featured the Philharmonic Orchestra performing various selections of Halloween style music. Costumes were welcome and I jumped at the opportunity to get all dolled up!

I decided that I would be a Geisha again this year (I was last year for the elementary school parade I was part of) as my awesome East Indian outfit would be for Halloween day. Since I already had the awesome wig, kimono that I got years ago at an antique store AND white makeup, I would be set for th night. I thought that Russel should be a good compliment to my outfit by being a cross with Steven Segal and an Asian man! lol I gently gelled his hair back and tied it up in a pony tail which looked really good. Then he put on an Asian shirt with his own pants and voila. The shirt looked so good on him too!!

As for me, I had a great time getting ready to be a Geisha-right down to the dark eye liner and white face paint! Here are some pictures!

Aren’t we cute?? With my wig, you can’t see it clearly but there was long hair in the back that was pinned up by butterflies. I realize that by looking at this picture, I should have had white face paint going down my neck and covering my hands-oops! lol I also didn’t have the right shoes or a fan but who was counting?

Either way we had a GREAT time at the orchestra. Lots of people were stopping to look at us and smile-we were definitely the cutest couple there! Even as we left, the one lady who was admitting people inside was asking us if she could take our picture to put in her scrapbook!!

Maybe we should start doing the Geisha/Steven thing more often! ;)
